5. Film Sample #1: The Godfather
This film represents my genre very well as it is often looked to as the benchmark for gangster movies. It takes place in New York, which is an urban area. Furthermore, it deals with the inner workings of a fictional mafia. The characters are seen wearing black suits, sometimes with red accents.The music used in this film is appropriate for the time in which it was filmed, but it sticks to classical, instrumental music that embodies the seriousness as well as danger and drama that comes with leading this life.
6. Film Sample #2: American Gangster
This film also embodies this genre very well. Its score consists of serious music that adds to the feeling of danger and power that these characters have. Their costumes consist mostly of suits with dark colors, further emphasizing their serious, powerful nature. Additionally, this film also takes place in an urban area, and takes advantage of color scheme to add to the seriousness of the film.
